Kodak Alaris introduces new scanners and software for faster image processing and intelligent data extraction
Kodak Alaris is expanding its document capture portfolio with the launch of a new line of low-volume production scanners and a refresh of its web-based capture software. It has also launched a trio of new cloud-based scanner management tools.
Based on the award-winning i2900 and i3000 Series Scanners, the Kodak S2085f (A4) and S3000 Series (A3) are faster and more powerful while offering network connectivity and a better user experience.
Two of the new models, the 85 pages per minute (ppm) Kodak S2085f Scanner and the 100ppm Kodak S3100f Scanner, have integrated flatbeds, giving users the flexibility to capture information from business cards, magazines, books etc., as well as cut-sheet documents.
The other new scanners – the 60ppm Kodak S3060 Scanner, the 100ppm Kodak S3100 Scanner and the 120ppm Kodak S3120 Scanner – are all A3 sheet-fed devices.
All models include an optional rear exit ‘straight-through’ paper path for exception documents, which streamlines scanning of thicker and large-format documents and eliminates paper jams.
New features include:
*True network shareability. The scanners can be securely accessed by any PC on the network.
*Enhanced built-in image processing. Image processing on the S2085f/S3000 Series delivers smaller file sizes for lower storage costs and faster retrieval. Perfect Page technology automatically turns poor quality originals into crisp, high quality images at the rated speed.
*Larger touch-screen colour display. This makes it easier to send documents to pre-defined capture workflows right from the scanner and view advanced options such as maintenance counters and productivity counters.
*Improved enterprise-grade security protocols. These safeguard the transmission of scanned images between the host and scanner when scanning over the network. TLS encryption ensures data integrity, while secure boot validates ‘trusted’ firmware before executing boot.
*Improved paper handling. A feeder capacity of 300 pages allows users to scan more documents in less time. SurePath technology cleanly stacks paper of varying sizes and thickness, reducing the need for manual pre-sorting.
All of the new scanners are EPEAT Gold Registered for environmental excellence.
Info Input Solution
Users can extend the scanner’s capabilities with the Kodak Info Input Solution v6 web-based and mobile scanning application.
The new version separates, classifies and extracts data without the need for barcodes or patch sheets, which reduces the need for document preparation, and lets customers choose which cloud engine to use for data extraction and indexing (Google Vision AI, Amazon Recognition or Microsoft Azure AI).
